Later on, the franchise became connected to Street Fighter, with Cody, Guy and other characters being added to the roster. They introduced new characters and enemies, but were still simple enough in their mechanics. The game met with a positive reception and two sequels were made. It was a simple side scrolling Beat ’em Up where the protagonists fought against the evil street gang, Mad Gear. Released in 1989 on SNES, it was a simple story of goodhearted street fighter Cody, his ninjutsu-practicing friend Guy and a former pro wrestler, currently a mayor, Haggar. Here’s a brief summary for people who never played any Final Fight game. Why Streetwise marked the death of Final Fight franchise despite adding free roaming in 3D environment? I’ll try to explain it below. However, being a franchise made by Capcom means that after few years something starts to break. It was the very first Beat ’em Up I’ve ever played in my life and it surpasses Double Dragon and Streets of Rage in my book to this day. The Computer Is a Cheating Bastard: Death's unblockable special moves.I love Final Fight.Spikes of Villainy: Has glowing green spikes growing out of this back, formed out of what seem to be like a mix of bone and crystal.Killed Off for Real: the unstable nature of the GLOW made his body disintegrate.Hyperactive Metabolism: From eating drugged-up rats.Back from the Dead: But it came at a price.Later, Father Bella helps Death in the fight by injecting more GLOW into his body when he is defeated. Death's attacks are all unblockable with his Hurricane Punch, Earth Splitter and Power Storm attacks generating green energy from his body. Kyle faces the second Death on the roof of Father Bella's church. Killed Off for Real: via melting into a puddle of goo.Detachment Combat: Its first form has plenty of ammo.Dem Bones: It looks more like a radioactive skeleton or something out of Dead Space than anything from its own series. It later sheds this mass after transforming. Body of Bodies: Pestilence has a somewhat human-looking frame, but then you notice the smaller limbs jutting out of random spots on its body, not to mention the gigantic mass of arms and legs protruding out of its back.Bishōnen Line: Its second form is not much of an improvement, but it is an improvement. In this form, Pestilence uses fighting combos, energy blasts and grabbing church pews to use as weapons against Kyle. Kyle defeats Pestilence the first time, but the creature changes its form into a slimmer, more humanlike form. Initially, Pestilence fights very slowly by spilling acidic GLOW, throwing one of its many limbs and firing out explosive GLOW bubbles at Kyle. Instead, its body seems to be comprised of the corpses of GLOW victims. Unlike the other horsemen, Pestilence does not seem to have been originally human. Pestilence is the third of Father Bella's Four Horsemen that Kyle faces in Little Italy. Roaring Rampage of Revenge: It's not a smart idea to threaten or kidnap his brother, or to be associated with whoever did. Then again, as Haggar says, back then he was just "a skinny-legged punk" and remarks how Kyle might not remember him. Remember the New Guy?: Guy doesn't, everyone else seems to.Police Are Useless: Hates the police, even though his girlfriend's brother is one.Perma-Stubble: Throughout Streetwise, he sports a five o'clock shadow.
